Overview

Kaneko Lab Portal is a lab-managed internal workflow portal for Kaneko Lab members and approved collaborators. It is not an official Kyoto University public service.

Kaneko Lab Portal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google user data accessed

After the user grants permission, the portal may access:

• The primary email address of the signed-in Google account.
• Data in lab-managed Google Sheets used by portal workflows.

Purpose of access and use

The account email address is used only to determine whether the user is listed in the lab-maintained access list, identify the user's role, display the relevant access profile, and create operational audit records.

Google Sheets data is used only to provide user-facing inventory, reservation, registration, cryo-stock, useful-link, material-support, and audit-log functions selected by authorized users.

Storage and protection

Portal records remain in lab-managed Google Sheets and Google Drive files. The portal does not copy Google user data to an external database. Operational logs may retain the acting user's email address, timestamp, and action details where needed for auditability and data integrity.

Access is protected through Google account authentication, portal role checks, Google Sheets sharing permissions, and spreadsheet protections. The portal does not ask users to provide Google passwords or OAuth tokens directly.

Sharing and transfers

The portal does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Access is limited to authorized lab members and administrators according to applicable account, role, Google Drive, and Google Sheets permissions.

Data retention and deletion

Users may request removal from the portal access list or correction of portal records by contacting the portal administrator. Operational records may be retained where necessary for lab auditability, research record integrity, security, or compliance with applicable requirements.

Policy updates

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in portal functionality or data practices. The current version and its update date will remain publicly available on this page.
